- Users of WhatsApp will soon be able to form larger groups with up to 512 members.
- For the stable version, the maximum group size is 256 persons.
- It is now being distributed out to all users of the beta version.
WhatsApp beta testers have started receiving a new upgrade. Users can now join up to 512 members to a group on the chat platform, which is a significant improvement. The company doesn’t waste time adding new features and releases them on a regular basis. The new group size limit functionality was first made available to a restricted group of users back in May. It is now being distributed out to all users of the beta version.

The current maximum group size is 256 individuals, however with the next version, you will be able to establish a larger group with up to 512 people. Keep in mind that the upgrade is only available to WhatsApp beta testers on Android and iOS. When this feature will be available in the stable version of WhatsApp is still uncertain.
If you’re a beta tester, the new feature can be found in WhatsApp versions 2.22.12.10 for Android and 22.12.0.70 for iOS. You can sign up for the beta programme here even if you are not a beta tester. However, this messaging app’s beta programme is generally filled. You can, however, continue to try your luck.
This was one of the most requested additions, according to WhatsApp. “One of the most common requests we’ve gotten is the ability to add more people to a chat,” WhatsApp noted in an official announcement last month. “Now we’re gently rolling out the ability to add up to 512 individuals to a group.”
Furthermore, WhatsApp is working on a feature that would allow users to save all of their chats from a third-party service locally on their device. Users currently have the option of backing up all chats to Google Drive, but you don’t have complete control over this. Users will be able to relocate conversation backups to their phone’s local storage space, as well as add them back to Google Drive, with the arrival of the new option.
