KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) reserved verdict in the case of missing teenager Dua Zehra and ordered a meeting of the girl with her parents.

The court resumed hearing in the abduction case of Dua – who went missing in April but was later found in Lahore married to Zaheer Ahmed on Wednesday.

At the outset of the hearing, Dua Zehra’s medical report that was carried out to examine her age was presented before the court.

The report holds that the teenager is nearly 17-year-old. However, the lawyer of the petitioner maintained that the age of the girl is 14 as per all documents.

Justice Junaid Ghaffar remarked to present all evidences related to her age in the trial court by saying that the court was dealing with the recovery case of Dua Zehra that ended.

The court also said that the girl should be presented again in Lahore court while maintaining that the objectives of the petition in SHC have been achieved.

SHC also asked Dua Zehra if she wants to meet her parents to which she refused. However, the court ordered a meeting between the girl and her family.

Notably, when the girl went missing in April an abduction report was registered for her who later maintained in a video message that she left her residence willingly to tie the knot with Zaheer.

However, the father of Dua, Mehdi Kazmi, claimed that the girl is underage and pleaded with the court to rescue her daughter. The court ordered Sindh Police to present the teenager in the court otherwise no proceeding will be carried out.
