Whitney Henriquez, sister of Amber Heard has spoken out following the jury’s judgement in Johnny Depp’s defamation trial against his ex-wife. Depp was given million in damages by a seven-person jury, which found that Heard, 36, defamed her ex-husband in a 2018 Washington Post op-ed alleging domestic violence in which she did not name him.
Meanwhile, Amber Heard was awarded USD 2 million in her defamation countersuit. Her lawyer announced the following morning that she plans to appeal the decision. On Sunday, the actress’ younger sister, who testified in her defence throughout the trial and was present when the verdict was revealed, showed her support for her on Instagram. She wrote, “I still stand with you, sissy. Yesterday, today, and tomorrow I will always be proud of you for standing up for yourself, for testifying both here in Virginia and in the UK, and for being the voice of so many who can’t speak to the things that happen behind closed doors,” Henriquez, 34, penned a letter.

Shortly after the conviction was announced, Heard issued her own statement, calling it a “setback” for women. “The disappointment I feel today is beyond words,” She stated, “I’m heartbroken that the mountain of evidence still was not enough to stand up to the disproportionate power, influence and sway of my ex-husband,” she wrote at the time.
Henriquez, on the other hand, testified and was questioned before in the court case about an incident in March 2015 in which she said Depp assaulted her and her sister on a stairwell in their apartment. According to PEOPLE, she said her then-brother-in-law punched her in the back and then “repeatedly” hit Heard. Heard also testified about the incident, alleging that she assaulted Depp to defend her sister. He disproved that version of events.
