The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are making their first journey to the UK with their children, Archie and Lilibet, since stepping down as senior royals in 2020 and relocating to the UK.

While a Scotland Yard spokeswoman declined to comment on the’special’ security plans in place for Prince Harry and Meghan, it has been claimed that the Duke has been notified that specialised police will guard his family upon their arrival.

The Sussexes’ visit comes as Prince Harry is still mired in a court fight with the Home Office over their decision to deprive him of protection in the UK, with the duke famously declaring that he is ‘unable to return home’ due to security concerns.

The pair is likely to remain at their Windsor residence, Frogmore Cottage, and to attend a thanksgiving ceremony at St Paul’s Cathedral on Friday. Lilibet’s first birthday will also be celebrated with the Queen.
