The film ‘Chakkar’ actually gave Chakkar to the audience and failed miserably at the box office. People were quite thrilled about the film because the buzz was so strong, yet it disappointed spectators. Chakkar’s film included a large cast, including Javed Sheikh. One amazing thing is that the entire Chakkar movie crew and actors went above and beyond to perform massive promotional efforts all around the country, and they surely received a positive reaction.
This film was launched on Eid Ul Fitr, and it was directed by the incredibly brilliant Yasir Nawaz. The film was co-produced by Nida Yasir and Yasir Nawaz under the auspices of Farid Nawaz Productions. It was stated during a promotional interview that Ahsan Khan and Neelam Muneer were not the ideal candidates for this film.
Concerning the fact that director and producer Yasir and Nida, respectively, stated that Mawra Hocane and Feroze Khan were both contacted for main parts in the film Chakkar and signed contracts, Feroze and Mawra backed out of their decision and returned their advance money. Feroze Khan’s brother returned his cheque, while Mawra Hocane’s manager returned the amount, according to Nida. Nida was optimistic that whatever happened would be for the best, and Neelam Muneer, together with Ahsan Khan, did an outstanding job in the role. They both gave their all and proved to be the greatest decision.
Although movie didn’t do well on screens yet Chakkar has joined hands in pushing cinema towards a revival phase. It’s truly incredible to see that our directors and producers are working hard to spike up the level of Pakistani film industry.
