Pro-Russian hacker assaults were prevented during the Eurovision Song Contest semi-final and final in Turin on May 10; according to Italian authorities.

Several cyber attacks on network infrastructure by the hacking organisation “Killnet” and its associate “Legion”; they were mitigated by police throughout voting operations and candidates’ performances, police claimed.
According to the ANSA news agency, on May 11, “Killnet” claimed responsibility for an attack on the websites of many Italian organisations; including the Senate, Italy’s upper house of parliament, and the National Health Institute (ISS).
Many Western nations have heightened alert levels in anticipation of future cyber assaults on IT systems and infrastructure.
