Jennifer Lopez is slated to produce a limited series based on the classic Rodgers & Hammerstein musical Cinderella.
Along with Skydance and Concord Originals, the Marry Me star’s Nuyorican Productions will support the future film.
According to Deadline, the upcoming project is the first under the previously announced arrangement between the firms to develop a slate of original projects based on Concord’s large archive of musicals. It will be penned by Rachel Shukert of The Baby-Sitters Club fame.
The first production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella, featuring Julie Andrews, opened in 1957. It attracted a tremendous audience of over 100 million viewers, making it the most watched show in history at the time.
Meanwhile, J. Lo is preparing for the release of her documentary Halftime, which will be available on Netflix on June 14, 2022.
