Severe heatwave expected to hit Karachi today

KARACHI: The temperature is likely to intensify across Pakistan as a heatwave is expected to hit most parts of the country today.

As per details, the temperature is expected to exceed 40 degrees Celsius and a new heatwave is likely to stay in Karachi starting from today till May 15.

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of the increased temperature exceeding 40 degrees in the metropolitan city and lower Sindh.

Today’s minimum temperature is expected to be 27.6 degrees Celsius, but the humidity is recorded at 78 percent.

Sea breezes are suspended in the city while hot winds are blowing from the west, the city will remain clear but there is no possibility of rain.

In this regard, the Meteorological Department said that due to high air pressure, daytime temperatures are likely to rise sharply in most parts of the country during the week.

On the other hand, Upper Punjab, Islamabad, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan 07 to 09-degree day temperature is likely to be higher than normal.

In addition, Upper and Central Sindh, Central and Southern Punjab, Balochistan 06 to 08-degree day temperature is likely to be above normal.
