Fans of Prime Video’s Jack Ryan should expect both good and terrible news.

The programme, which stars John Krasinski as Tom Clancy’s legendary figure, will conclude after its fourth season, which is currently filming, according to Deadline.

According to the site, Krasinski had committed to four seasons of Jack Ryan when he signed on to play the character.

While this is the bad news, fans will be relieved to learn that a possible spin-off series is in development.

According to Deadline, a series starring Michael Pea (Ant-Man) as Ding Chavez is in the early stages of development, with no solid concept or storyline in place.

Pea as Chavez will make her debut in the season 3 finale before joining the group full-time in season 4.

Raymond Cruz played the character in the Jack Ryan film series’ Clear and Present Danger in 1994.

Chavez joined the CIA after serving in the US Army and has served on missions in Colombia, Iran, and the United Kingdom as the executive officer of Rainbow Six.

Last November, it was revealed that Zuleikha Robinson of Lost and Okieriete Onaodowan of Station 19 had been cast as series regulars for the fourth season of the show.

Onaodowan will play Adebayo ‘Ade’ Osoji, and Robinson will play Zeyara.

Louis Ozawa (Hunters) joins the cast as a series regular, with Derek Cecil (House of Cards) and Nancy Lenehan (People of the Earth) recurring.

Season three’s premiere date has yet to be announced by Prime Video.

In the third season, Jack Ryan is on the run and in a race against time after being wrongly accused in a wider scheme, leaving him a wanted man.

The eponymous hero is pushed underground, crossing all of Europe in an effort to stay alive and prevent a great worldwide conflict, as he is wanted by both the CIA and an international renegade faction that he has found.

Seasons 1-2 of Jack Ryan are now available on Prime Video.
