When Supernatural fans arrived at a convention in New Jersey over the weekend, Jensen Ackles informed them that his co-star Jared Padalecki would be unable to attend due to “a very bad car accident.” They’ll be relieved to see that Padalecki has updated his Twitter account, stating that he is “definitely on the mend.”
Padalecki is presently filming Walker, a modern reworking of the ’90s Western TV series Walker: Texas Ranger starring Chuck Norris (probably the third season, given the second season is now airing). According to Padalecki’s post, he “hopes to return to filming later this week.”
Ackles said Padalecki “lucky to be alive” and added; “he’s at home recovering…the fact that he’s not in a hospital right now is blowing my mind because I saw the car.” when making the announcement. Soldier Boy, a distorted version of Captain America, will be played by Ackles in season 3 of The Boys.
Ackles is also working as a producer and narrator on the Supernatural prequel The Winchesters, which has a concept similar to How I Met Your Mother. The show will centre on Sam and Dean’s parents and their demon-hunting exploits.
