We take a look at the major events as the Russia-Ukraine conflict enters its 60th day.

Zelensky US meeting:
On Sunday, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will meet with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin in Kyiv. Zelenskyy stated that he hopes to obtain heavy weapons, which are necessary for Ukraine to recover Russian-occupied territory.
Fighting:
According to Ukraine’s military, Russia placed Iskander-M mobile combat missile launchers within 60 kilometres (40 miles) of the Ukrainian border. The mobile system’s two ballistic missiles may carry conventional or nuclear bombs and have a range of up to 500 kilometres (300 miles).
A Ukrainian official says Russia has started its attack on the final defenders of a massive steel plant in Mariupol, days after Moscow declared victory in the southern port city and insisted its soldiers did not need to seize the complex.
An adviser to Mariupol’s mayor claimed a second attempt to evacuate Ukrainian people from the war-torn city failed, blaming Russian soldiers. According to the governor of the Luhansk region, eight persons were killed in Russian strikes.
Diplomacy:
Ukraine has requested “a full list of equipment” to run its nuclear power facilities, according to the International Atomic Energy Agency, including radiation detection instruments, protective material, computer-related help, power supply systems, and diesel generators.
Finance Minister Christian Lindner stated that Germany must do all possible to assist Ukraine in winning the battle against Russia without jeopardising its own security or NATO’s defence capacity.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’ decision to visit Moscow on Tuesday, rather than first visiting Kyiv, was criticised by Zelenskyy. Guterres will meet with Zelenskyy on Thursday, but the Ukrainian president claims that visiting Russia first is “unjust and illogical.”
Arms Delivery:
According to Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, Poland has provided Ukraine with armaments worth $1.6 billion. According to Polish media estimates, the package comprises 40 tanks and around 60 armoured vehicles.
Refugees:
According to the UN refugee agency, the number of Ukrainians fleeing the nation since Russia’s invasion has risen to 5,163,686.
