As Bareilly SP Rajkumar Agarwal said, “Police indicated that the offenders are being probed and suitable punishment would be taken for the crime.”
During an interview with the media, the man’s mother said he misread the scenario since he was inexperienced.
“My younger kid used his cell phone to listen to religious tunes.” It never occurred to him that his phone had phrases like this. Those kind of tunes are never heard on the show. The accused shopkeeper’s mother pleaded with the authorities to free her son.
It’s not the first time someone has been accused of “anti-national” acts for playing Pakistani tunes or chanting Pakistani slogans.
