Kate Middleton isn’t renowned for defying the royals, but she and her husband Prince William seemed to breach a major royal law at Queen Elizabeth’s Easter Day Church Service in 2018.

It is a well-known Easter custom for the royal family to meet at St George’s Chapel in Windsor to attend a church service alongside the Queen, according to The Mirror.

Unlike a Christmas church service, however, family members do not assemble in a group, but rather according to custom, the oldest member of the family arrives last.

This means that the Queen is generally the last to arrive, with family members forming a line outside and waiting for her to enter the church.

Kate and William, on the other hand, were the last to arrive in 2018, but not because of their tardiness.

The Cambridges were stopped in traffic on the M4 on their trip to Windsor, according to reports, and Kate was also pregnant with their youngest child, Prince Louis.

When they eventually arrived, the ceremony had already begun, and they had to enter the church secretly.

The Queen is said to have shrugged off the snafu and was soon photographed smiling beside Kate and William!
