Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey is being blamed for the protests that Prince William and Kate Middleton have faced on their Caribbean tour.
According to journalist Dan Wootton, Harry and Meghan’s charges about the royal family being racist toward Meghan were “being weaponized against the Royal Family” and fueling Republican fervour in Caribbean countries such as Jamaica.
Wootton feels that Jamaican activist Bert Samuels is exploiting Meghan’s allegations against the British royals, “to help advance his political cause for the UK to be forced to pay reparations.”

Writing for the Daily Mail, Wootton said: “Republicans across the Commonwealth would try to use the claims to bring the Queen’s reign to an end in the monarch’s twilight years.”
He also called the suggestion that Meghan’s race has anything to do with her continuing feud with the royal family “total hogwash.”
“Meghan wasn’t pushed out of the Royal Family because of ethnicity and to even countenance such a fantasy is irresponsible,” he said.
Wootton added: “Shame on Meghan for the damage she’s caused to the Commonwealth and shame on the propagandists in Jamaica and the media using her fantasies to advance their republican cause.”
Prince William and Kate are now on a Caribbean tour as part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee festivities, and have received various protests.
