I was forced to resign as a model after a total stranger glassed me in the face – simply because I am a woman

A MODEL was forced to resign after a complete stranger glassed her in the face simply because she is a woman.

Amy Hallam, 27, required 20 stitches after being assaulted at random in a busy Manchester bar by “misogynist” Khalil Bangi, 32.

“Creepy” Bangi “aggressively” approached Amy before blocking her path, getting in her face, and calling her a “f***ing slut.”

Amy slapped him instinctively in the hope that he would leave her alone.

But a raged Bangi slapped her back with such force that she nearly fell over.

At the Albert Schloss bar, he then hurled a pint glass at the victim from only four feet away, smashing above her left eye on impact.

Amy, who worked for a model agency in Manchester, was rushed to the hospital, where doctors discovered her brow was split in two.

Amy was brave enough to try out for modelling photoshoots after undergoing treatment, but she had to withdraw due to panic attacks over her scar.

She burst into tears as she bravely relived her ordeal as chartered accountant Bangi was sentenced to 16 months in prison.

On May 6, 2020, he admitted to causing serious bodily harm.

Amy, who has been receiving therapy for anxiety, PTSD, and hypervigilance since the attack, stated, “Your senseless act of violence will have an impact on me for the rest of my life.”

“I had never known what it was like to be truly helpless until that night.”

“You were staring me down, and I remember exactly how you looked with your arm raised above your head, and in that split second, my perception of life was forever altered.”

”I thought I was going to be left blind as I felt blood pouring down my face.

“I had never been so scared in all my life.

“My skin was split to the bone and my eyebrow separated in half and was no longer aligned.
