US President Donald Trump confirmed that Washington is moving forward with the second phase of sanctions on Russia in response to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
Speaking to reporters at the White House, Donald Trump stressed that the sanctions were necessary given Russia’s recent attacks on Ukraine. When asked by a journalist about additional measures, he replied, “Yes, we are about to begin the next phase of sanctions against Russia.”
Trump also expressed dissatisfaction with some European allies who continue trade and oil dealings with Moscow despite the escalating situation.
