KARACHI: Karachi Traffic Police have issued a special traffic plan for 12 Rabi-ul-Awal to ensure peaceful and organized processions in the city.
According to the traffic police spokesperson, SSPs of all districts will monitor processions in their areas to keep traffic flowing smoothly and assist citizens.
Two main processions will begin from Memon Masjid. The first, led by Maulana Akbar Dars, will start at 2:30 pm and end at Aram Bagh Masjid. The second and central procession, led by Maulana Shah Abdul Haq Qadri, will begin after 3:00 pm and conclude at Nishtar Park.
Police will block regular traffic on procession routes. No vehicles will be allowed from Guru Mandir towards Numaish, and MA Jinnah Road will remain closed for public transport. Only vehicles with special procession stickers will be permitted on MA Jinnah Road.
Traffic from District Central will be diverted towards Lasbela, Nishtar Road, and Garden. Vehicles from District East will be sent through Shahrah-e-Quaideen, Kashmir Road, and Soldier Bazaar, while traffic from District South will move towards Gul Plaza, Coast Guard, and Pakistan Chowk.
Authorities will stop traffic from the MR Kiyani Chowk towards Court Road. Heavy vehicles will be diverted towards Liaquatabad No.10, Nazimabad Chowrangi No.2, and Shershah to avoid any obstruction.
Traffic Police have appealed to citizens to use alternative routes to reach their destinations without delay. A 24-hour helpline (1915) has also been set up to provide guidance.
Officials said these measures aim to maintain peace during the 12 Rabi-ul-Awal processions and ensure a safe traffic system. They also requested patience and full cooperation from citizens.
