Tecno is poised to introduce its latest innovation in foldable smartphones—the Phantom Ultimate G Fold—expected to be officially unveiled in mid-July.
Building on last year’s reveal of the Phantom Ultimate 2, Tecno’s first tri-fold concept, which was showcased at MWC 2025, the company is now focusing on refining this advanced design.
Preliminary images of the G Fold reveal a device capable of folding inward, offering enhanced protection for the main display when closed. Rumors suggest that Samsung might adopt a similar tri-fold mechanism in its upcoming foldable lineup, but Tecno’s G Fold remains in the concept phase, not yet ready for mass production.
The device features a triple-camera setup on the rear and a cover screen positioned on the left side. When fully opened, Tecno promises a perfectly flat display, thanks to innovative smaller dual-hinge systems and a specialized stacking of flexible screen materials.
The hinge mechanism supports stable hovering at various angles, enabling multiple viewing modes and improving overall usability—testament to the device’s sophisticated engineering.
Notably, Tecno claims that the G Fold will be the slimmest tri-fold in the world, potentially surpassing the Huawei Mate X2’s ultra-thin profile of just 3.6 mm when unfolded.
Combining a sleek form factor, seamless display, and advanced hinge technology, the Phantom Ultimate G Fold exemplifies Tecno’s ambition to make a significant impact in the foldable smartphone market.
