Amazon has raised the subscription prices for its Music Unlimited service in the United States (US), Canada, and the United Kingdom (UK). The company stated that the price update is aimed at bringing more content and new features to users.
New Amazon Music Unlimited Prices
Here’s the updated pricing structure:
- Prime Member Plan: $10.99/month (previously $9.99)
- Non-Prime Plan: $11.99/month (previously $10.99)
- Unlimited Family Plan: $19.99/month (previously $16.99)
These changes took effect on January 29, 2025, for new subscribers. Existing users will see the updated prices on their next renewal, likely after March 5, 2025.
Comparison with Other Streaming Services
With this increase, Amazon Music Unlimited’s non-Prime plan now costs the same as Spotify’s individual subscription ($11.99/month). However, it remains more expensive than YouTube Music and Apple Music, both priced at $10.99/month. Prime members still receive a $1 discount, making Amazon’s service slightly more affordable for them.
New Features Added
To stay competitive, Amazon Music Unlimited has introduced one free audiobook per month and a Wrapped-like yearly recap, similar to Spotify.
These updates indicate Amazon’s focus on improving its streaming service while maintaining value for Prime members.
