Rajab Butt, a renowned Pakistani digital creator with 5.62 million YouTube subscribers, recently made headlines for his lavish wedding events and subsequent arrest. He was arrested for keeping a lion cub at home, a gift he received during his wedding.

A wildlife officer filed the case against the YouTuber. He admitted to his crime and received a one-year sentence under Section 12 of the Wildlife Act. He accepted the charges and surrendered to the court. Being cooperative, he will vlog about animal rights for one year as part of his punishment. Lawyers have praised this decision as a very positive one by the court.

In his court apology, Rajab Butt said, “I admit that the lion cub was found in my possession illegally. I didn’t know that wild animals cannot be received as gifts. I now understand that it is inappropriate to keep wild animals at home. I regret my actions, and as a social media influencer, I should focus on creating positive content. I was not authorized to keep the cub, and I set a wrong example. Recognizing my mistake, I will voluntarily offer community service through my social media platform and spread a positive message about the rights of wild animals. I leave myself at the mercy of the court.”
