Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari criticized the government on Thursday for not coordinating properly with its allied parties.

Speaking at an oath-taking ceremony of OGDCL Employees (CBA) in Islamabad, he emphasized that governments cannot survive if they go against the will of the people.

Bilawal stressed the need to address public issues rather than focusing on political arrests. He highlighted PPP’s long-standing support for the working class, recalling how Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto fought for workers’ rights. He mentioned that PPP always prioritizes labour rights, pointing out achievements like introducing the first labour policy, establishing pensions, and ensuring minimum wages.

Talking about his tenure as foreign minister, Bilawal shared how he had to adjust salaries in the Foreign Office, as there had been no raise since 2011, despite rising inflation.

Bilawal also spoke about the importance of collective decision-making, citing the 18th Amendment and the 1973 Constitution as examples of successful consensus-based policies. He warned that unilateral decisions often fail and that governments ignoring public needs eventually collapse.

While acknowledging that PPP can’t solve all labour issues, he assured workers that the party will continue to advocate for their rights and push for national economic progress. He urged everyone to focus on unity and development instead of divisive politics.

In his closing remarks, Bilawal called for issue-based politics and collective efforts to ensure the country’s growth.
