National Assembly, Senate to be present multiple bills today

The Senate and National Assembly will convene today (Thursday) to discuss various bills. The Senate session is scheduled for 3 PM, with a 14-point agenda released, though no constitutional amendment bill is on the list.

Committee reports and several bills will be presented for approval, with a supplementary agenda possibly added if there’s consensus on the constitutional amendment draft.

National Assembly Session Agenda

The National Assembly, chaired by Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, will begin at 4 PM. Minister for Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar is expected to introduce a bill on implementing the Convention on the Prohibition of Biological Weapons.

Additionally, the Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs will present an amendment to the National Commission on the Status of Women Act, and the Federal Minister for Housing and Works will table a bill for the establishment of the Pakistan Infrastructure Development and Waste Management Authority.

The Cabinet Division will also present a report on the implementation of federal policy for 2020-21.

Meanwhile, two calling attention notices will address concerns about non-standard education in Islamabad and the rise of diabetic patients nationwide.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has planned a strategy for the sessions, with only a few central leaders expected to attend, while others have been instructed to avoid public appearances and participation.
