LAHORE – Rain and gusty winds are forecasted for Lahore and parts of Punjab on Thursday night and Friday.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) says weak monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal are affecting upper and central Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave is present over the upper regions.
These weather conditions are expected to bring rain and gusty winds to isolated places in Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sialkot, Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura, Sahiwal, Sargodha, Khushab, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Noorpur Thal, Bhakkar, Layyah, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Bahawalnagar on Thursday night.
On Friday, most districts in the province will experience mainly hot and very humid weather. However, isolated places such as Murree, Galliyat, Sialkot, Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, and Sheikhupura can expect rains and gusty winds.
Lahore’s maximum temperature is expected to be between 36-38°C on Friday and 37-39°C on Saturday.
Meanwhile, hot and humid weather prevailed in most districts of the province over the last 24 hours, with rain-wind/thundershowers occurring at isolated places in Northeast Punjab.

Bahawalpur was the hottest place in the province, with a maximum temperature of 41 °C. Sahiwal, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Multan recorded maximum temperatures of 40°C.
In Lahore, the maximum temperature reached 38°C, with relative humidity in the evening recorded at 72%.
