Actor Aman Preet Singh, brother of Bollywood actress Rakul Preet Singh, was arrested on Tuesday in Hyderabad, India, in connection with a drug case, as reported by Indian media.
Authorities acted on a tip-off suggesting a significant drug consignment, specifically over 2 kilograms of cocaine, was being transported to Hyderabad for distribution. During the operation, Aman Preet Singh and four foreigners were apprehended, among more than 30 individuals suspected of involvement in drug use.
Police conducted raids that led to the seizure of 200 grams of cocaine, valued at approximately 20 million Indian rupees. All suspects, including Aman Preet Singh, will undergo medical examinations before their court appearances.
This incident follows previous investigations into drug-related issues within Bollywood. Rakul Preet Singh herself has been summoned several times in recent years for questioning related to drug trafficking and usage. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has been actively investigating allegations of drug links within the film industry, summoning prominent personalities such as Deepika Padukone.
The NCB’s probe has expanded to include producers, talent managers, and fashion designers associated with Bollywood, aiming to uncover any potential nexus between the film industry and illicit drug activities.
