Lahore: Chicken prices in Punjab have fallen by Rs. 25 per kilogram after Eid ul Adha, effective June 20, 2024.
Chicken is one of the most popular meats in Pakistan. Poultry demand stays high year-round because it is commonly used in a variety of dishes.
According to official rates, chicken meat in Lahore’s local market is priced at Rs 350 per kg today.
The wholesale price of live broilers is now set at Rs 300 per kg, while the retail price is Rs 324 per kg.
The price of a dozen eggs has slightly increased to Rs. 247, while the price of the price of a full crate of 350 eggs has significantly decreased to Rs. 7290.

Lower poultry prices can reduce financial pressure on consumers and provide more affordable options. However, there are concerns about whether retailers will implement the new rates.
