Jonathan Adam LeCompte, a devoted family man and employee at the North Carolina Department of Transportation, tragically lost his life on March 14, 2024. While working, he witnessed someone stealing his NCDOT truck.

Despite his efforts to stop the thief and protect others, Jonathan was struck and fatally injured by the stolen truck driven by Ricky Alex Driggers.

Driggers, the carjacker, was charged with first-degree murder, fleeing to elude arrest, larceny of a motor vehicle, and two counts of attempted common law robbery following the incident. The tragedy unfolded after Driggers attempted a carjacking and fled the scene, leading to a police pursuit that ended in a crash.

Jonathan LeCompte, survived by his wife Stacey and their son, was remembered as a loving husband and father. His family mourns his loss and seeks justice for his untimely death. Jonathan’s funeral was held at Walston Baptist Church as his loved ones cherish his memory and grieve his passing.
