Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced the “Roshan Gharana” program, aiming to distribute 50,000 solar systems across the province. The decision came during a recent meeting where the CM directed officials to promptly install one-kilowatt solar systems.
The initiative emphasizes the adoption of state-of-the-art solar technology. In its first phase, with a budget of Rs 12.6 billion, the program will cater to 50,000 protected consumers using 100 units monthly through a balloting process.
Each solar system will include advanced panels, inverters, batteries, and essential accessories to ensure efficient power generation. The meeting witnessed the presence of key officials, including Provincial Information Minister Azma Zahid Bukhari, Former Senator Pervaiz Rashid, MPA Sania Ashiq, and top executives from various departments such as Energy, Finance, Punjab Power Development Company (PPDCL), and Punjab Power Development Board (PPDB).
