The revelation came after reports from Fortune magazine indicated that X was planning to launch a TV app for Amazon and Samsung users in the coming week.

X, which Musk acquired in 2022, has been undergoing significant transformations, with the introduction of video and audio calling features in October of the previous year. Musk has expressed his vision of turning X into a super app, offering a range of services from messaging to peer-to-peer payments.

Responding to a user’s post on X, Musk confirmed the upcoming availability of long-form videos on smart TVs, stating, “Coming soon.” According to Fortune’s report, the app’s interface may resemble the TV app provided by Google’s YouTube, with Musk seemingly determined to compete with the popular video-sharing platform.

While X has faced challenges in retaining advertisers due to various controversies, the platform has been actively working to establish itself as a “video-first platform.” Collaborations with notable figures like former Fox commentator Tucker Carlson have been part of X’s strategy to enhance its content offerings.

Despite X’s initial struggles, Musk seems focused on expanding the platform’s reach and capabilities.
