In welcome news for Pakistan, which has been grappling with inflation, the Utility Stores Corporation (USC) has declared reductions in the prices of essential goods such as cooking oil and ghee.

In certain regions around the globe, authorities lower food costs before Ramadan, recognizing it as a period when families and communities gather for festive meals and observances, abstaining from food during daylight hours. Food industry leaders and markets frequently provide discounts and special offers on essential food items to meet the heightened demand during this time.

With Pakistani consumers facing record-high food prices, the Utility Stores Corporation has unveiled a 17% discount on several brands of cooking oil, ghee, tea, and detergents, offering relief to the populace.

The Utility Stores Corporation has clarified that the reduction in prices will take effect immediately and is distinct from the Ramadan relief package, slated to commence on March 4. The latter will exclusively benefit BISP (Benazir Income Support Program) beneficiaries.

Presently, utility stores are offering over ten brands of oil and ghee, and relief has been extended to all of these brands, ensuring that consumers can access discounted prices across a variety of options.
