In Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and various areas of Pakistan, rain occurred over the past day. Experts anticipate this wet weather to persist intermittently into Tuesday evening or night.

Heavy rainfall, occasional hailstorms, and mountain snowfall contributed to a cold spell in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and many regions across Pakistan.

Rain, accompanied by wind and thunderstorms, along with snowfall in mountainous areas, was observed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Islamabad, the Pothohar region, northeastern Punjab, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Leh experienced the lowest temperatures in the country, with the mercury dropping to 9 degrees Celsius below freezing.

In Islamabad, the lowest temperature was recorded at 6 degrees Celsius, with a morning relative humidity of 94 percent.

In Rawalpindi, the minimum temperature was recorded at 8 degrees Celsius, with a morning relative humidity of 85 percent.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), an incoming westerly wave is impacting the northern regions of Pakistan and is expected to continue over the next 24 hours.

During these conditions, predominantly cold and dry weather is anticipated in most areas, with freezing temperatures expected in the upper regions of the country on Tuesday evening or night. However, isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and adjacent hilly areas may experience further rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall over hills.

Wednesday and Thursday are forecasted to bring primarily cold and dry weather across most regions, with freezing temperatures likely in the upper areas of the country. However, isolated areas in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and nearby hilly regions may experience light rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall over hills.

On Wednesday, Islamabad’s minimum temperature is expected to range between 10 and 12°C, while on Thursday, it may range from 9 to 11°C.

Rawalpindi’s minimum temperature is anticipated to be between 10 and 12°C on Wednesday and 9 and 11°C on Thursday.
