Lahore – Pakistan is set to choose its new government for the next five years on Thursday, with over 128 million citizens casting their votes for the National Assembly and provincial assemblies.
Numerous candidates are competing for 336 seats in the National Assembly and 749 seats in the Provincial Assemblies.
Pakistan Elections Results 2024
It’s understandable for people to expect timely election results.
Results of the closely watched Pakistan elections, based on unofficial sources, may be available before midnight or in the early hours of Friday.
According to Section 98 of the Elections Act, the Election Commission of Pakistan is obligated to publish official results within 14 days of the election. Therefore, since the voting is scheduled for February 8, official results should be announced by Thursday, February 22.
During a news conference, Additional Director General (ADG) Nighat Sadique stated that presiding officers were required to submit the election results to the election commission by 2 a.m. on February 9th.
If there are any delays, the returning officer (RO) will investigate the cause of the delay by questioning the presiding officer (PO) and report it to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
