LAHORE: Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has appealed for support from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers, pledging to put an end to retaliatory politics. Speaking at a public gathering in Lahore as part of the PPP’s campaign for the 2024 General Elections, Bilawal asserted that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is currently seeking retribution against the PTI, emphasizing the PPP’s stance against any form of political discrimination.
Bilawal expressed that the political landscape of 2024 cannot be governed by the dynamics of the 1990s. He encouraged the youth not to squander their votes and to choose the best option available. Concurrently, he criticized the ‘veteran’ politicians, stating that the country cannot be entrusted to those who have had numerous opportunities to serve but have ‘failed’ consistently.
Pointing fingers at figures like Showbaz and Wasim Akram Plus, Bilawal pledged to implement the party’s 10-point agenda to combat inflation, poverty, and unemployment if the PPP attains power. He reiterated the commitment to bury the politics of animosity and division.

Despite criticism for focusing on Lahore in the election campaign, Bilawal clarified that Lahore belongs to him and not to someone else. In a subsequent address in Kot Addu, he underscored that the February 8 general elections represent a contest between the PML-N and his party, urging the nation to vote for the ‘arrow’ symbol.
Bilawal emphasized the PPP’s belief in the power of votes, distinguishing it from other parties that he claimed are reliant on extraterrestrial forces. He positioned the PPP as a party that represents the common man’s interests, contrasting it with other parties that allegedly favor the elite.
Bilawal pledged that the PPP would bring relief to the common man if elected to power.
In earlier statements, Bilawal called out veteran leaders of opposition parties, asserting that they failed to address the people’s problems during their tenures. He advocated for young leadership to take charge and resolve the country’s challenges, citing disappointment with the performance of opposition leaders.
