South Indian actor-director Dhanush recently shared the unexpected story behind the viral hit “Kolaveri Di.” During an event, he was asked to sing the iconic track, which prompted him to reflect on its origins.

“Kolaveri Di…that song still continues to haunt me,” Dhanush humorously quipped, acknowledging the lasting impact of the song. He then revealed how the team behind the song had completely forgotten about it after its late-night recording.

“We found an icon on the computer screen saying Kolaveri Di. We opened it and then it hit us, oh, we made this. We made it and forgot about it. We found it funny, but we never thought it would be such a big sensation. These things you can’t plan. God should consider you worthy,” he explained.

The song, featuring Dhanush’s vocals and lyrics alongside Anirudh Ravichander’s music, went on to become a massive hit, becoming the most searched YouTube video in India upon its release. Dhanush performed the song for his ex-wife, director Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s film 3, which starred Dhanush and Shruti Haasan.

On the professional front, Dhanush will star in Kubera and is set to direct and produce Idly Kadai. Recently, he was involved in a legal dispute with Nayanthara over footage used in her Netflix documentary.

Tom Cruise set to star in Doug Liman’s upcoming supernatural thriller ‘Deeper’

Tom Cruise
  • Tom Cruise is set to star in the upcoming supernatural thriller Deeper.
  • The film is directed by Doug Liman.
  • Liman shared that this will be his first thriller movie ever.

Tom Cruise is set to star in Doug Liman’s upcoming supernatural thriller Deeper, marking an exciting collaboration between the actor and filmmaker.

Liman confirmed both his and Cruise’s involvement with the project during a screening of the documentary Gaucho Gaucho in New York City.

In an interview with Showbiz411, Liman expressed his excitement about delving into the horror genre, saying, “I have never done one, and neither has Tom.”

Deeper, currently in the early stages of development, is set up at Warner Bros. However, it remains unclear whether the film will be Liman’s next directorial project. The movie is centered on the story of an astronaut who encounters a mysterious and terrifying force while descending into an uncharted trench.

The film has faced several changes since its inception in 2016. Originally, Bradley Cooper was attached to star, with Kornél Mundruczó set to direct. Later, Idris Elba and director Baltasar Kormákur tried to bring the project to life, but those efforts fell through as well.

If the current plans materialize, Deeper will mark the third or fourth collaboration between Cruise and Liman, who previously worked together on Edge of Tomorrow and American Made.

The duo is also developing an ambitious NASA project to be shot in outer space in partnership with SpaceX, which is still in the works. Fans of the pair will have much to look forward to as they continue to work together on groundbreaking projects.

Nargis Fakhri's sister
  • Nargis Fakhri’s sister Aliya has been arrested.
  • This happened following the deaths of her ex-boyfriend and his friend.
  • She is accused of intentionally setting fire to a detached garage.

Aliya Fakhri, Nargis Fakhri’s sister, has been arrested in connection with the tragic deaths of her former boyfriend, Edward Jacobs, 35, and his friend, Anastasia Ettienne, 33, in Queens, New York, last month.

Aliya, 43, is accused of intentionally setting fire to a detached garage, which led to the deaths of both victims. The fire occurred on November 2, and authorities believe it was deliberate. District Attorney Melinda Katz confirmed that Jacobs and Ettienne died from smoke inhalation and thermal injuries after being trapped inside the burning structure.

According to a witness, Aliya allegedly shouted, “You’re all going to die today” at Jacobs, who was sleeping upstairs in the garage at the time. The witness then saw the building engulfed in flames shortly after hearing the outburst. Ettienne, Jacobs’ friend, rushed downstairs after hearing the commotion and attempted to rescue Jacobs but tragically did not survive.

Aliya has been indicted by a grand jury on four counts of first-degree murder, four counts of second-degree murder, and charges of first- and second-degree arson. If convicted on the top charge, she could face life in prison.

While Nargis Fakhri has not publicly commented, their mother has defended Aliya, stating, “I don’t think she would be killing someone. She was a person who was caring for everybody. She tried to help everybody.”

She also revealed that Aliya had struggled with opioid addiction following a dental mishap, which may have contributed to her erratic behavior.
