Google most searched game worldwide in the 2022 list. Wordle, an online word game, surprised everyone by becoming the most-searched phrase on Google in 2022. Whether you acknowledge it or not, you’ve probably Googled the game or looked up the answer at least once, if not twice.
According to the list, the online word game Wordle became a worldwide sensation and was the most searched term in February of this year. Josh Wardle, a software developer, designed the game for his partner Palak Shah after the two became addicted to word games during the COVID-19 pandemic. Although the game was published in late 2020, it quickly became popular around the world as players began sharing square configurations with yellow, green, and grey colours, as well as text, on social media platforms to illustrate how they did on the daily puzzle without revealing any spoilers.
The popular online word game can only be played once per day. A player has six chances to accurately guess the letters that make up the word of the day. After each guess, the colour of the boxes changes to represent how near a person is to the word. If the box becomes green, it means the letter was properly put. If it is yellow, it means that the correct letter is incorrectly placed. Finally, if the letter goes grey, it is not part of the word.
