After Malala’s nikkah with Asser Malik, Pakistani celebrity makeup artist Omayr Waqar shared Malala Yousafzai’s statement on his Instgaram that she made a few months back regarding anti-marriage.

Earlier in July 2021, the Nobel Peace Prize winner in her interview with Vogue magazine had said, “I still don’t understand why people have to get married. If you want to have a person in your life, why do you have to sign marriage papers, why can’t it just be a partnership?”

Now, the 24-year-old social activist got married to Asser Malik on Tuesday in a small ceremony in Birmingham, England, and her marriage took the internet by storm and people are questioning her anti-marriage statement.
